Description

Standing figure of Amida Nyorai, the Buddha Amitabha, on a lotus and a circular pedestal decorated with petals and geometric patterns. It is made of lacquered and gilded wood. The gilded is visible in the face, chest, hands, feet and the lotus. The back is not gilded. The hands form one of the nine mudras of rebirth the kuhon-raigō-in, with the index finger and thumb joint. It is the mudra for the lower birth, upper realm, gebon jōshō.
